World’s 8th-richest man worth £90bn out to buy Liverpool and already owns sports team – Daily Star
The world’s eight-richest man is interested in buying Liverpool and already owns another sports team.
Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani, who has an estimated net worth of £90billion, is reportedly one of a number of parties chasing a deal to buy the club. According to The Mirror, Ambani has made an enquiry with regards to purchasing Liverpool after the news that current owners, the Fenway Sports Group, were willing to listen to offers of £4billion.
As well as Ambani’s interest, the club’s owners have also been swamped with enquiries from numerous parties in both the Middle East and the USA.

Ambani is a massive sports fan and already has numerous sporting investments in his native India, owning the IPL cricket franchise the Mumbai Indians and helping to set up the nation’s football Super League.
The report adds that he would be willing to pump millions into the club to fund transfers and enhance Liverpool’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe. India is also seen as a rapidly growing market for shirt sales.
Whilst Liverpool fans have been critical of FSG’s support of Klopp in the transfer market in recent seasons, Ambani would arrive with a reputation as the “World’s Richest Sports Team Owner”, deriving from his purchase of the Mumbai Indians.
