Utah Jazz reportedly sign forward Rudy Gay – KJZZ

Sources report that the Utah Jazz have signed free agent forward Rudy Gay.

The deal is reportedly for two years with a player option.

Gay has played 15 seasons in the NBA including several with current Jazz point guard Mike Conley in Memphis. Gay has played with the Grizzlies, Raptors, Kings and spent the last four seasons with the Spurs.

The 6’9” forward has been in the playoffs in three of his 15 seasons and has never made an NBA All-Star team. Last season with the Spurs he averaged 11.4 points and 7.1 rebounds in 21.6 minutes. Gay shot 38% from three-point range last season with the Spurs.

He was drafted eighth in the 2006 NBA Draft by Houston before he was traded to Memphis just days later. He ruptured his left Achilles tendon in January 2017.
