GIRLS’ SOCCER

DOLGEVILLE 9, HERKIMER 0 (Tuesday)

The Dolgeville Blue Devils scored six goals in the first half, with two coming from Gianna Lyon and defeated Herkimer 9-0 on the road.

DOLGEVILLE (2-1-0) – Emily Metz scored three goals, Jakyra Miller had two goals and one assist, Gianna Lyon scored two goals, Rylee Lamphere had one goal and three assists, Reece Lamphere scored one goal, and Ally Comstock contributed one assist while Kerisa Van Olst made four saves in her first varsity shutout.

HERKIMER (1-2-0)

Herkimer travels to Boonville for Thursday’s match against Adirondack. Dolgeville plays at home Thursday against the Utica Academy of Science.

WEST CANADA VALLEY 6, UTICA ACADEMY OF SCIENCE 0 (Tuesday)

Lydia Reimer scored four goals in her second consecutive match and netted her fourth hat trick of the season Tuesday in the West Canada Valley Indians’ 6-0 win over the Utica Academy of Science.

WEST CANADA VALLEY (3-1-0) – Lydia Reimer scored four goals, and Gabrielle Schrader scored the other two. Reese Fellows, Jenna Pohleven and Kiersten Usyk each contributed one assist, and Klohie Bolton made three saves in the team’s second consecutive shutout.

West Canada Valley plays at home again Thursday against Frankfort-Schuyler. The Utica Academy of Science plays at Dolgeville Thursday.

REMSEN 11, TOWN OF WEBB 0 (Tuesday)

Julia Dening scored five goals for Remsen Tuesday in an 11-0 shutout of the Town of Webb.

TOWN OF WEBB (2-3-0)

REMSEN (2-1-0) – Julia Dening had five goals and two assists, and Grace Shufelt and Emily Shufelt each had two and three. Olivia Stanford scored two goals and assisted on a third while Tayler Nelson contributed one assist and goalkeeper Imagin Aiken made three saves.

The Town of Webb plays at home Thursday against Poland. Remsen next plays Monday at Hamilton.

POLAND 11, ORISKANY 1 (Tuesday)

The Poland Tornadoes led Oriskany 5-1 at halftime Tuesday on the way to their 40th consecutive victory dating back to the start of the 2019 season.

POLAND (5-0-0) – Logan Cookinham had three goals and one assist, Alexis Bates had two goals and four assists, Madison Altamura scored two goals, Lily Martin had one goal and two assists, Haylie Lowe, Natalie Hobin, and Lilly McColley each scored one goal, Shelbi Hagues had two assists, and Ava Malin had one assist. Chloe Roark and Zyanna Irving-Summers each made two saves.

ORISKANY (0-1-0) 

Poland plays at the Town of Webb Thursday and Westmoreland Saturday.

SHARON SPRINGS 3, RICHFIELD SPRINGS 1 (Tuesday)

Sharon Springs scored twice in the second half to break away from a 1-1 halftime tie and won 3-1 at Richfield Springs Tuesday.

SHARON SPRINGS (n/a) – Rachel Rorick scored both goals in the second half. Ava Jump made five saves.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS (n/a) – Aedan Osborne scored a goal assisted by Camryn Martin to give the Indians the lead in the first half. Emma White made seven saves.

Richfield Springs plays at home Thursday against Richfield Springs.

NEW HARTFORD 5, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 0 (Tuesday)

The New Hartford Spartans took the lead with two goals in the first half and shut out Vernon-Verona-Sherrill for their 19th consecutive victory.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL (1-3-0) – Grace Maranville, Payton Cronk and Sierra Kinne combined to make 10 saves.

NEW HARTFORD (5-0-0) – Allison Falvo scored two goals, and Sophia Vitullo, Amanda Graziano and Willa Pratt each scored one. Talia Vitullo had two assists while Alex Volo, Makenzie Desmarais and Olvia Vitullo each had one. Savannah Cole made one save.

OPPENHEIM-EPHRATAH-ST. JOHNSVILLE 2, GLOVERSVILLE 1 (Tuesday)

Sydney Schell scored both goals Tuesday and the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves defeated Gloversville 2-1 for their first win of the season.

OPPENHEIM-EPHRATAH-ST. JOHNSVILLE (1-3-0) – Sydney Schell’s first goal put the Wolves up 1-0 at halftime, and her second gave them a 2-0 lead in the second half.

GLOVERSVILLE (n/a)

Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville plays at 2 p.m. against Hoosic Valley Saturday in the third of five Western Athletic Conference/Wasaren League crossover matches at Stillwater High School.

WEST CANADA VALLEY 3, REMSEN 2 (Wednesday)

The West Canada Valley Indians scored three goals before halftime and defeated Remsen 3-2 Wednesday.

REMSEN (0-3-0)

WEST CANADA VALLEY (2-2-0) – Kolby Weakley had one goal and one assist, and Charlie Reed and Edvin Selimovic scored the other goals. Matt Rachon made eight saves.

Remsen plays at home Saturday against Frankfort-Schuyler. West Canada Valley is off until Tuesday’s home match against the Town of Webb.

HOLLAND PATENT 5, LITTLE FALLS/DOLGEVILLE 1 (Wednesday)

The Holland Patent Golden Knights led 3-0 at halftime Wednesday and defeated the Little Falls Mounties 5-1 for their first win of the season.

HOLLAND PATENT (1-2-0) – Dylan McGuire scored three goals and assisted on a fourth. Carter Williams had one goal and two assists. Sawyer Locke had one goal and one assist. Andrew Stanley had one assist.

Little Falls plays at Clinton Saturday.

POLAND 4, HAMILTON 1 (Wednesday)

The Poland Tornadoes led 2-0 at halftime Wednesday and rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 4-1 victory over the Hamilton Emerald Knights.

POLAND (2-1-0) – Austin Huckabone scored two goals and assisted on one. Carter Cookinham scored two goals. Daetyn Jones had two assists. Hunter Conklin made 12 saves.

HAMILTON (3-2-1) – Brady Foster scored in the second half with an assist from Tom Simpson. John Hughes made 10 saves.

Poland plays at Cooperstown Friday. Hamilton next plays Tuesday at home against Cooperstown.

SHARON SPRINGS 5, RICHFIELD SPRINGS 1 (Tuesday)

Luke Enyart and Brady Law each scored two goals for Sharon Springs in Tuesday’s 5-1 win over Richfield Springs.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS (n/a) – Brogan Graves scored one goal.

SHARON SPRINGS (n/a) – Luke Enyard and Brady Law scored two goals each and Carson Law scored one.

Richfield Springs plays at Edmeston Thursday.

ROME FREE ACADEMY 55, WEST CANADA VALLEY 47 (Wednesday)

ROME FREE ACADEMY (n/a) – Imani Pugh won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Alexandra Mecca won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle.

WEST CANADA VALLEY (1-3) – Analyce Grabowski won the 100 freestyle and the diving competition. Macyn Thomas won the 50 freestyle. Grabowski and Thomas teamed with Isabella Borden and Margaret Jones to win the 200 freestyle relay.

West Canada Valley has another meet at home Thursday against Utica-Proctor.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

NORTH COUNTRY COMMUNITY COLLEGE 7, HERKIMER COLLEGE 3 (Wednesday)

The North Country Community College Saints scored the first three goals Wednesday and led 4-2 at halftime en route to dealing fifth-ranked Herkimer College its first defeat of the season.

HERKIMER COLLEGE (4-1-0) – Hailey Traut scored the first two goals and assisted on the third scored by Kurstin Gay in the second half. Patricia Fernandez and Natalie Little each had one assist. Isabella Smith made 16 saves.

NORTH COUNTRY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2-0-0) – Skyelin Bradford had three goals and two assists. Mikenna Valentine had two goals and one assist. Carlijn van der Smeede scored two goals. Chloe Flannaghan had two assists and Abby Hart had one. Alison Van Schaick made nine saves.

Herkimer College next plays Sunday at Corning Community College.
