Thomas W. Cramer, 73, of Mapleton Depot, passed away at 8:46 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at his home.
He was born May 12, 1949, in Huntingdon, a son of the late William J. and Dorothea (Ripple) Cramer Parsons. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a stepfather, Charles E. Parsons.
On Oct. 7, 1967, he married Bonnie K. (McMullen), who resides at their home.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by: his three children, Tracy S. Powell and husband, Greg; Thomas W. Cramer and wife, Vicki; Tricia J. Morgan and husband, Wendell; his siblings, Karan V. Sunderland of Huntingdon, Janet Wertz of Mount Union; Charles Parsons and wife, Melody of Mount Union and Cheryl Keaton and husband, Charles of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Raynell Gay and husband Gary of Alexandria, and a brother-in-law, Ray E. McMullen Jr. and wife Vickie of Mount Union. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Miranda M. Thomas and husband, Shane of Saltillo; Casey T. Cramer and wife, Katlyn of Mapleton Depot; Makayla A. Corbin and husband, Logan of Alexandria; Jarrett L. Cramer and wife, Sierra of Mount Union; Nathanael T. Morgan and wife, Hannah also from Saltillo; Caleb J. Morgan of Hill Valley and girlfriend, Kaitlin Arnold; Gracey E. Cramer from Mapleton and Olivia R. Morgan also from Hill Valley.
Tom was fortunate to also be blessed with three great-grandchildren, Colten T. Cramer of Mapleton, Ella M. Cramer of Mount Union and Lexi Q. Corbin of Alexandria, as well as a number of special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two nieces, Kimberly D. Boyer and Shannon Wertz.
Tom graduated in 1967 from Mount Union High School. He was employed for 30 years at New Holland in Belleville. During that time, he also owned and operated his own small business making furniture, called Neighbor Tom’s, all while serving on the Mapleton Area Municipal Authority and Mill Creek Water Authority.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Mapleton, a member of the American Legion Country Club in Mount Union and the Mapleton Hunting Camp.
Tom loved to be in the outdoors more than anything, from wading in the trout streams, bass fishing in the river, or sitting in a tree stand with his bow.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at Grace United Methodist Church in Mapleton with Pastor Dan Mansberger officiating. Burial will take place at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Mapleton following the service.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at Grace United Methodist Church in Mapleton and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday.
