The Teletubbies are ‘gay demons’ because they want to work with Lil Nas X. Yes, really – Yahoo Eurosport UK
The Teletubbies have once again been accused of being the apparent origin of all sin in the world for wanting to work with Lil Nas X. Yes, really.
On Friday (17 September), the official Teletubbies Twitter account asked the rapper if they could be featured on his next album – complete with sharing a Montero album cover spoof that is a work of art.
But in doing so, this invoked the wrath of far-right commentator and former TruNews host Lauren Witzke.
Taking to Instagram, Witzke, who is a self-described “American Christian Nationalist” according to her profile, insisted that she “always knew that the Teletubbies were little gay demons”.
While the Teletubbies being seemingly involved in the so-called “gay agenda” that Nas, in fact, thanked aver winning big at the MTV Video Music Awards last week, might strike some as just another wild right-wing conspiracy, Witzke was not sharing a fever dream here.
The actual Teletubbies account did reach out to the 22-year-old to collaborate – and Lil Nas X was more than happy to have them on board.
“Alright, bet!” the “Industry Baby” megastar hit back. “Me and Tinky Winky on the hook, Dipsy and Po on the verses and we’ll let Laa-Laa do the outro.”
“Perfect,” the Teletubbies replied. “We’ll see you in the studio, Lil Nas X!”
But the Teletubbies have long been on the radar for conservative firebrands looking for any reason – any at all – to absolutely foam at the mouth.
Former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka said that the Teletubbies “started that whole trans thing” in 2019. We wish we were making that up.
“Above a certain age you have to take responsibility for your own education and your own understanding of the truth,” he said at the time on a conservative radio show, before adding that “one of [the Teletubbies] wore a tutu”.
Well, there you have it, folks.
