What’s the match?

Trent Rockets host Oval Invincibles in the latest game of this year’s women’s Hundred competition.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to commence at 3.30pm BST on Wednesday, August 17.

Where is the match being played?

Trent Bridge will host this fixture.

Who’s got the form?

It’s very much still in the fledgling stages of the competition, but both sides venture into this contest having won and lost one from their opening two matches.

In the Rockets’ opener it was time for Alana King’s coronation. The Australian skittled Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross out for golden ducks on her way to a four-wicket haul, including a hat-trick. Victory was assured by a mammoth 43 runs, yet their most recent result was less prosperous: an eight-wicket defeat to Birmingham Phoenix brought the Rockets back to reality.

On the opening day of this latest Hundred instalment, Oval Invincibles were true to their name. A debilitating nine-wicket defeat for Northern Superchargers after a superb 74 not out from wicketkeeper Lauren Winfield-Hill was the perfect beginning for the capital franchise. However, their good fortune evaporated in the scorching heat on Sunday as Southern Brave claimed victory by 12 runs.

What’s the team news?

Nat Sciver returned to Trent Rockets’ squad on Monday and made an intelligent 31 after missing the opening match for personal reasons. Overseas top-order batter Kim Garth will be pushing for her first start after replacing Meg Lanning

Marizanne Kapp slipped straight into the Invincibles’ line-up on Sunday after a bout of illness, but Alice Capsey missed out on Monday’s game after seemingly rolling her ankle in the match prior. It’ll be interesting to see who is omitted from the line-up once Kapp and Capsey are both playing together, but Aylish Cranstone is a likely contender.

What’s the key match-up?

Spin was certainly King on Saturday and the Australia international’s haul moved her onto five wickets for the tournament from just two matches. Oval Invincibles have scored 140-plus in their opening two battles, and the top-order of Suzie Bates and Winfield-Hill is an daunting task for any bowler.

When in form, Kapp can take a game of cricket away from you. A premier allrounder, Kapp possesses all the traits of a top-level cricketer. How effectively she bowls to Sciver and Elyse Villani might just determine the outcome of this one.

Can I get tickets?

There are limited tickets available for this match.
