The All-Queer Justice League Is Back to Make the Yuletide Gay
Back when the Justice League Queer debuted during Pride Month, we thought it might be the only time we get to see this team of all-LGBTQ+ heroes. Thankfully, our holiday prayers have been answered and the team is back!
In an exclusive announcement from AIPT Comics, we get to see the JLQ’s first return to action, and it’s just in time for the winter!
The JLQ first debuted in DC Pride #1 this past summer and were a part of a tournament held by DC Comics to pick their next comic series. Unfortunately, JLQ lost out to eventual winner Robins. However, the team proved too popular with fans to leave behind.
Now they’re back in the all-new, 80-page holiday special ‘Tis the Season to be Freezin’. The holiday special also features stories starring heroes and rogues like The Flash and Captain Cold, Harley Quinn, Robin and Mr. Freeze, Firestorm and Killer Frost, and Vixen. AITP Comics has an exclusive preview of the issue.
In the preview, we get to see Extraño, Tasmanian Devil, Crush, Traci 13, the new Aquaman and his boyfriend Syl, Bunker, Tremor, and The Ray team up to fight Minister Blizzard and the ice goddess he has on his side.
What started as a JLQ holiday hangout quickly turns into a fight to save the world as Minister Blizzard plans to freeze the entire world on Solstice night.
The JLQ’s latest story is written by Andrew Wheeler, with Meghan Hetrick on art, Marissa Louise on colors, and Becca Carey on letters. ‘Tis the Season to Be Freezin’ comes out digitally and in comic stores on December 14.
Hopefully, this is far from the last time we’ll see this team. It’s got a great lineup, and there are even more queer heroes in the DC universe to add. Forget the Snyder Cut — this is the only Justice League we want!
