‘Greatest night of my life’:Carrie Underwood rocks Stagecoach with Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Stagecoach returned this year from April 29 to May 1 featuring headliners Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and Luke Combs.
Underwood’s performance quickly turned into what she later called the “greatest moment” of her life when Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose came out to sing “Sweet Child O’ Mine” with the headliner. The two legends danced all over the stage and got the crowd even more excited. They later sang another one of the rock band’s hits, “Paradise City.”
During a powerful set by the Brothers Osborne, T.J. Osborne referred to a big life moment in February 2021 when he came out as gay in an interview with Time Magazine. The second that article was released, he became the first openly gay male artist on a major country music label.
“There are a lot of preconceived notions about country music fans,” he said. “But thousands of you are out here watching a gay man perform tonight. This is the change I want to see. Thank you so much. This is incredible. This is country music.”
