The winter high school season is underway for Taunton area teams.

Take a look at highlights from Tuesday’s local high school action:

Boys basketball: Taunton at Canton

SCORE: Taunton 59, Canton 47

LOCATION: Canton

DATE: Dec. 20 

RECORD: Taunton, 3-0 

HIGHLIGHTS: The unbeaten Tigers remain unbeaten after beating Canton on the road. Chris Perault led Taunton with a team-high 19 points. Jakari Innocent added 14 points.

NEXT UP: The Tigers face unbeaten Dartmouth in the Skip Karam holiday tournament next week.

Boys basketball: Bristol-Plymouth at Upper Cape

SCORE: Bristol-Plymouth 55, 47 BP

LOCATION: Upper Cape

DATE: Dec. 19

RECORD: Bristol-Plymouth, 3-1 (1-0 in Mayflower Large)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Craftmen came from behind to beat Upper Cape on the road Monday. Tucker Bumila had a team-high 23 points and 15 rebounds for B-P. Ryan Donovan chipped in with 11 points while Billy Donovan and Donte Morris each finished with 10 points. Donovan came up big by hitting a three-pointer and two free throws to seal the victory.

NEXT UP: The Craftsmen hosts Old Colony on Wednesday.

Girls Basketball: Taunton at Canton

SCORE: Taunton 56, Canton 52

LOCATION: Taunton

DATE: Dec. 20

RECORD: Taunton, 3-0 

HIGHLIGHTS: The Tigers won their third straight game, beating league opponent Canton on the road. Taryn Campbell led Taunton with a team-high 13 points. Jillian Doherty and Cali Melo each chipped in with 11 points. Aaliyah Year came off the bench and contributed two big three-pointers. Chelsea Bousquet had five points while Skylar McCrohan added five and rebounded well. McMina Clermont capped the scoring with two points. “Total team effort across the board,” Tigers first year head coach Gretchen Rodrigues said.

NEXT UP: Taunton hosts Durfee in the holiday tournament on Dec. 29.

Girls basketball: Dighton-Rehoboth at Somerset Berkley

SCORE: Somerset Berkley 41, Dighton-Rehoboth 36

LOCATION: Somerset Berkley

DATE: Dec. 20 

RECORD: Dighton-Rehoboth, 1-1

HIGHLIGHTS: The Falcons dropped a close league matchup with Somerset Berkley on the road. Lucy Latour led D-R with a team-high 12 points. Ella Damon finished in double figures with 11 points 

NEXT UP: The Falcons travel to Nauset on Thursday.

SCORE: Upper Cape 46, Bristol-Plymouth 31

RECORD: Bristol-Plymouth, 1-2 

HIGHLIGHTS: The Craftsmen dropped a home game against Upper Cape on Monday. Laisha Alves led the way for B-P with a team-high eight points. Kaylee Baker chipped in with seven points.

NEXT UP: The Craftsmen host Old Colony on Wednesday.

Boys Swimming: Taunton at King Philip

SCORE: Taunton 59, King Philip 38 

LOCATION: Milford H.S.

RECORD: Taunton, 1-0

HIGHLIGHTS: The Tigers won their season opener against league opponent King Philip on Monday. Senior Gerald Grealish was a double winner for Taunton in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, earning a MIAA South Sectional qualifying time in both events. Senior Keenan Daley also won two events in the 100 free and 100 backstroke. Jared Sardinha placed first in the 50 free and second in the 200 free. Joshua Florindo finished secondnd in the 50 Free and 100 free. The relay team of Daley, Florindo, Sardinha and Grealish took first in both the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.

NEXT UP: The Tigers travel to Brockton on Thursday.

Girls Swimming: Taunton at King Philip

SCORE: Taunton 84, King Philip 64 

LOCATION: Milford H.S.

DATE: Dec. 19 

RECORD: Taunton, 1-0

HIGHLIGHTS: The Tigers won their first meet of the season on Monday, beating league opponent King Philip. The relay team of Tiffany Ye, Mila Dafov, Eliana Gay and Abigail Fernandes took first place in the 200 medley relay and second place in the 400 free relay. Senior captain Tiffany Ye was a double winner for Taunton in the 200 free and in the 100 backstroke with an MIAA Division 1 State qualifying time. Fernandes placed first in the 100 free and second in the 50 free. Gay finished second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 free. Dafov placed second in the 200 IM and third in the 500 free. Megan Viveiros placed second in the 500 free and third in the 200 IM. Lillia Ballantine capped the scoring with a second place showing in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 free relay team of Emma Bradley, Morgan McAloon, Rachel Maynard and Viveiros had a first-place finish.

NEXT UP: The Tigers face Brockton on Thursday.
