Agatha: Coven of Chaos will see a number of characters from WandaVision returning. This includes David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, and Kate Forbes. The report mentioned three new additions to the cast one of which is Miles Gutierrez-Riley. While there are no official confirmations, it seems like the newcomer will play the role of Teddy Altman aka Hulkling, the Kree-Skull hybrid.

According to an announcement from The Hollywood Reporter, a ton of cast members from the original show, WandaVIsion are returning to the spin-off series. Apart from the cast members, the announcement also revealed the three directors who will be responsible for the show. The trio includes Jac Schaeffer, Gandja Monteiro, and Rachel Goldberg.

Adding on to the announcement, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia are three new faces that will show up amidst the chaos. In Murphy’s Multiverse’s new report, there were some points to be considered that lead in the direction of Gutierrez-Riley being cast as Hulkling.

The team of Coven of Chaos was looking for a gay actor between the age range of 18-20 years. The character was described to have a “great sense of humor” and a “kind soul.” On top of that, the character of Teddy had to be madly and deeply in love with his boyfriend. Oh, and have an athletic build, as well, but this one just goes without saying. It’s worth noting that Gutierrez-Riley doesn’t fit the age requirement, but it doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal. The entertainment industry barely focuses on the actor’s age if they are right for the role!

Since Agatha: The Coven of Chaos’ release is not too far away, there should be an official confirmation soon, right? Especially with new insights coming in about the show, who Gutierrez-Riley is playing might be revealed soon.

Fans Aren’t Thrilled with the Idea

After the possibility of Gutierrez-Riley playing the part of Hulkling reached fans of the MCU, needless to say, there was some discussion. There were some who were all for the idea, there were some who were completely against it. A lot of fans argued that Gutierrez-Riley would make a better Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan. They also stated that actor Kit Connor, who plays Nick Nelson in Heartstopper, would’ve been a better choice as Teddy. Not to mention that the actor fits the age requirement, as well.

Apart from Gutierrez-Riley playing Hulkling, there is also a possibility that Joe Locke will play the “witty, astute fanboy,” Billy. Locke’s case as Billy is further backed by the team wanting to cast Jewish parents in the spin-off series. This matches the comic-book description of Billy’s parents. Both Billy and Teddy are founding members of the Young Avengers and are involved in a romantic relationship.

Gutierrez-Riley is an American actor and has been seen in projects like The Wilds, On The Come Up, and The Moon & Back. Whether or not he ends up playing Teddy or instead plays a completely different character, we can’t wait to see how he carries out his MCU debut!

Kathryn Hahn will be reprising her role in Agatha: Coven of Chaos which  is set to release on Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024.
