Saswata Chatterjee to play a gay character for the first time! – Times of India

Seasoned actor Saswata Chatterjee is right now among the most sought-after character artists, both in Bengali cinema and Mumbai as well. However, despite winning hearts with his stellar act as the cold-blooded contract killer Bob Biswas in ‘Kahaani’ he had to turn down so many offers in Bollywood due to his work commitments back in Kolkata. And now, Saswata is enjoying an impressive line-up of Hindi along with Bengali films.
This may come as a surprise for all the Saswata Chatterjee fans but for the first time, he is set to play a gay character in an upcoming national project. Yes, you read it right. The ‘Tirandaj Shabor’ actor is playing a major role in the Hindi remake of ‘The Night Manager. When asked about his role in it, Saswata shared, “Yes, I am playing an interesting role in the project. My character is a gay person who with the help of his sexuality brings out the truth. I am sharing the screen with the finest actors like Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aditya Roy Kapoor among others. We have already shot in Sri Lanka, Shimla and Rajasthan and it has been a fun-filled ride.”

Saswata will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dobaaraa’ and Raj Kumar Santoshi’s ‘Bad Boy’. Not just this Bollywood lineup, he is playing an important role in Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer ‘Project K’. His last Bollywood outing was Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Dhaakad’ wherein he was seen as the mentor of Kangana’s character.
