On Sunday, June 12th, 2022, at 12:43 P.M., the West Chester Police responded to the 500 block of East Gay Street for the report of a hit-and-run accident that just occurred. When officers arrived on scene, the striking vehicle had returned. Through an investigation, it was determined that one of the operators, Meredith Sanderson, a 34-year-old white female from West Chester, was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol to the degree she was incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle. Sanderson was taken in to custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence. Sanderson was processed and released on summons. A preliminary hearing is pending at District Court 15-1-04.
