The following is a medical update on Utah Jazz forward Rudy Gay:
Gay was examined Wednesday by the Utah Jazz medical staff and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) testing. The MRI revealed a third finger MCP joint sprain in his left hand. He will be reevaluated in two weeks.
Gay (6-8, 240, Connecticut) is in his 17th NBA season and second with the Jazz, owning averages of 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per contest in 2022-23. Among active players, Gay ranks 13th with 17,403 career points.
