Rudy Gay a probable trading chip for rebuilding-near Utah – TalkBasket.net
Another trading chip that the Utah Jazz can consider is Rudy Gay.
As reported by HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the 35-year-old Gay is a trade candidate for the Jazz given his age, contract and the team’s looming rebuild.
A 14-year veteran, Gay is an underrated bucket-getter throughout his time in the NBA, recording a career average of 16.3 points, 5.8 boards and 45.3 percent shooting from the field in a total of 1064 games played.
Last season with the Jazz, he carved off an 8.1 points average to go with 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 41.4 percent efficiency for 55 games.
Gay will be owed for about $12.5 million for two remaining years in his contract, wherein the 2023-2024 season is a team option.
Given his small ball big capabilities and offensive outputs, contending rival teams would certainly eye him for a potential transaction.
