‘RHOSLC’ Star Heather Gay Says She Suspected Jen Shah’s Business Was ‘Unsavory’ Before Her Arrest – Just Jared
Heather Gay is getting candid about her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-star Jen Shah.
In case you missed it, Jen and her assistant Stuart Smith were arrested for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in an alleged telemarketing scam earlier this year.
Jen has maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
During an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday (September 12), Heather shared that she had privately suspected that Jen‘s business may have been “unsavory” and revealed that she is still supporting her friend during her legal woes.

When asked how she’s able to separate her support of Jen from her alleged involvement in a nationwide telemarketing scheme, Heather replied, “I have one job, and that’s to be Jen‘s friend. That’s it. And you know what? You need friends when you’re in a situation like this.”
Another fan asked if she had questioned her RHOSLC co-star about her legal situation and Heather said, “I don’t need to.”
“It’s irrelevant,” she went on to say. “I knew her business was unsavory when I was her friend, so why would I change now that it’s public?”
Heather also explained that while she didn’t know Jen‘s business practices were possibly illegal, she thought something seemed amiss.
“Jen was on my podcast and I asked her for like, an hour of questions about her business because I love business and I know how hard it is to make money in business. It doesn’t just flow,” she said. “I never understood [her business]. And I just assumed it was something that was like, right along the line of, you know, nothing I’d want to be involved in.”
“But I didn’t think it was illegal. I didn’t think you’d go to prison for it. I would have said, ‘Babe, don’t do this. Your life is worth more than that,’” she added.
Heather added that the one thing that would cause her to end their friendship is if Jen talked negatively about her children on social media.
“I can take it but like, my kids are off-limits,” she said, adding that Jen is “a disaster on social media.”
