Rhoda Gay Wade, 78, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away on June 8, 2021. She was born on June 20, 1942, to James Okey and Opal Cox in Elizabeth, WV.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ralph, Royden and Ronald Cox, sisters Ruby Hendricks, Rosie Mae Elkins and Rachel Hamrick and three infant siblings.

Rhoda is survived by her son Michael R. Wade and wife Sonya, son Glen S. Vanvorst, son Larry M. Wade and son Douglas P. Wade, she has five grandchildren Michael Ray Wade Jr., Michelle Wade, Meaghan Wade, Jacob D. Wade, Breanna Wade, and four great grandchildren Michael Ray Wade III, Meaghan Avery Wade, Maleah Wynn Wade, and Jody Lee Odom III.

Rhoda is survived by two brothers Robert and Raymond Cox and two sisters Ruth Mann and Ramona Watson, and many nieces and nephews.

Rhoda was known as the Chief and the beauty queen. She loved her sons, and family. She put a smile on everyone’s face with her funny jokes, loved to eat out, loved her close friends, and church family. She especially loved singing with her brothers and sisters.
