Rémy Cointreau unveils first travel retail-exclusive gin : The Moodie Davitt Report – The Moodie Davitt Report

Rémy Cointreau is set to launch its first travel retail-exclusive gin – The Botanist Hebridean Strength – at next week’s TFWA World Exhibition (Marine Village 1A, 1B).

The group will also highlight innovations from key brands including Rémy Martin and Louis XIII Cognacs, Cointreau, Bruichladdich, Mount Gay rum, Metaxa and St Remy brandy.

Underscoring its commitment to travel retail, Rémy Cointreau has doubled its floorspace at the exhibition and its global travel retail team will be joined by several member of the group’s senior management.

Rémy Cointreau CEO Global Travel Retail Worldwide Adam Hamzah said: “The TFWA World Exhibition & Conference remains the milestone event for Rémy Cointreau on travel retail.

“The Group’s strong return to Cannes underpins our role as an exceptional partner of choice in the channel, and we look forward to reconnecting with the industry in person to drive visibility of our brands through an innovative year through new launches and retail excellence.

“Thanks to our valorisation strategy aimed at developing brands of exceptional quality, with genuine know-how – and, in some cases, a history going back hundreds of years – Rémy Cointreau will be presenting a full brand showcase and exciting innovations that we hope will help to grow the premium category in the year ahead.”

“We make progress, we make change… we also make whisky” – Bruichladdich is just one of the Rémy Cointreau brands set for the Cannes spotlight

In line with the group’s commitment to sustainability, Rémy Cointreau’s new exhibition space has been created with responsible design, transportation, and construction principles in mind, using responsibly sourced timber. All elements are either fully reusable or recyclable and not sent to landfills. Low energy LED lighting and water-based paints have been used throughout.

Rémy Cointreau has also partnered with Tree-Nation to fund the planting of 1,000 trees, contributing to the planet’s carbon neutrality on top of the group’s existing reduction and contribution actions. The donation will help to support reforesting plots in France with resistant spruce trees to fight against the expansion of the bark beetle pest.

Rémy Cointreau has made a conscious effort to ensure its stand meets its sustainability commitments

The Rémy Cointreau stand features a bar and dedicated zones for each of its brands. The Botanist Master Distiller Adam Hannett will lead tastings of The Botanist Hebridean Strength, while Metaxa Brand Ambassador Aris Chatziantoniou, will introduce the group’s one-of-a-kind Greek spirit through a premium cocktail serve.

The group noted that global travel retail is a “key channel”. “In 2021/22, while international traffic continued to be affected by the pandemic, the recovery in Europe and Americas was better than expected, followed by India and the Middle East. The group sees the travel retail channel as strategic in being present in a client’s journey, from home to home, across multiple engagement touch points.”
