Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 3: Jen Shah’s court drama at centre – Metro.co.uk

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans, the time we’ve all been waiting for is here as the trailer for season three has finally dropped – and it is explosive.

Our favorite ladies of Utah have definitely done their best to keep up the drama since that iconic second series first aired on Bravo last year, with Jen Shah since pleading guilty to fraud and money laundering charges.

It looks like her legal issues will be taking center stage once again in the upcoming RHOSLC episodes, which will follow her plea drama.

In one scene, she sobs as she claims that she was ‘played’ by her former assistant, Stuart Smith – who pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud last year.

‘I would not be in this thing at all if it wasn’t for Stuart,’ the Housewife declares.

Danna Bui-Negrete, who is serving as a ‘friend of’ the cast this season, stirs the pot a little more, telling Whitney Rose: ‘Someone I know was working for Jen and now he’s an informant.’

Heather Gay and Meredith Marks also find themselves in the hot seat as they are questioned on whether they’ve asked Jen if she’s guilty of the charges against her.

The trailer then cuts to footage of their pal leaving court this summer after switching her plea from not guilty to guilty, a move which made headlines around the world and left her castmates shocked.

However, it wouldn’t be a season of SLC without more drama from the rest of the gang – as Lisa Barlow is forced to contend with rumors surrounding her burgeoning alcohol brand.

Heather is also left with a black eye at one point, with question marks over whether someone else in the group was responsible for the injury.

Addressing the painful-looking mark, Lisa helpfully comments: ‘Heather, you look like somebody clocked you.’

‘Well, maybe somebody did,’ she cryptically replies.

Talk about coming back with a bang…

Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait for new episodes as the season will kick off on Wednesday, September 28.

If you need us, we’ll be rewatching season two on a loop until then.

Jen recently found herself back in the headlines when she pleaded guilty in July, after being charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing.

According to reports, she agreed to forfeit $6.5million and to pay restitution up to $9.5million.

Speaking to Judge Sidney Stein, she confirmed that she was changing her plea to guilty to ‘wire fraud, offering services with little to no value.

‘We used interstate telephones and emails. I knew many of the purchasers were over the age of 55. I am so sorry.’

When asked if she knew it was ‘wrong and illegal’, Jen responded: ‘Yes, your Honor.’

This means the Bravo star will not stand trial, but faces up to 30 years in prison.

It was alleged that Jen and her former assistant, Stuart, had been running a US-wide fraud scheme since 2012, selling services such as website designs that claimed to make the management of victims’ businesses more profitable or efficient, according to prosecutors.

The pair were also alleged to have offered to sell on the personal information of victims to other members in the ‘fraud ring’, with many of those targeted being over 55 years of age.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season three premieres on September 28 at 9pm EST on Bravo, and will be available to stream on Hayu the following day.
