Queen-disser Uju Anya thanks Nigerians for support but is slammed for mentioning ‘I am still a gay’ – MEAWW
PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: A Carnegie Mellon University professor has been in the news since it was revealed that Queen Elizabeth II’s health was deteriorating. At the time, Uju Anya had tweeted, which was later deleted, “I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.”
Anya did not stop there as after the monarch’s death on September 8, she said: “Queen Elizabeth was representative of the cult of white womanhood,” before asserting: “There’s this notion that she was this little-old-lady grandma type with her little hats and her purses and little dogs and everything, as if she inhabited this place or this space in the imaginary, this public image, as someone who didn’t have a hand in the bloodshed of her Crown.”

For her strong words, the woman who works in the Department of Modern Languages at CMU, was heavily criticized. Jeff Bezos also lambasted at her by tweeting: “This is someone supposedly working to make the world better? I don’t think so. Wow.” And, in her defense, Anya responded: “Otoro gba gbue gi. May everyone you and your merciless greed have harmed in this world remember you as fondly as I remember my colonizers.”

However, not just hate, Anya has also received love and support from many people online, like a Twitter user told her, “PROF UJU ANYA History will never forget you Just retweet !” Another one wrote: “The irony is that, these are the same people crying today that President Putin is evil because of his attack on Ukraine, whereas he’s not done 1/10 of what they themselves did to Igbo ppl in 1967 – 1970. These guys are evil! I stand with Uju Anya unwaveringly.” “Prof. Uju Anya is very right, they want us to be silent and perhaps mourn for the dead. Sad!!. The queen Mother sat at the head of table and watched her government committ genocide in Biafra land, no words of condemnation. Sad!!” the third one added.

Anya responded to all the support and tweeted: “+234 Twitter, good morning. I give you special thanks for riding hardest for me. My Nigerian people, especially in and from Alaigbo, saw how much I love you and showed me love back. Together we shared our pain and taught the world our history. Thank you❤️ P.S. I am still a gay.”

In another tweet, she stated: “My people, thank you🥰🥰🥰 All this love you send to me, I receive and return it. As you’re here saying me being gay doesn’t matter, or you won’t disown me, please, I beg you, can you find the same grace for the LGBTQ people in your lives? Can you please love us like we love you?”

Her latest posts also received a lot of positive comments but there were people who attacked her for revealing her sexuality. A critic shared, “But why do you have to proclaim that you’re gay?🤔 You make it sound weird… Like you’re trying to cause something or draw people’s attention to that. I think it’s unnecessary. Nobody cares about your sexual orientation or practices; it’s supposed to be personal/private,you know.” Another one said, “Keep you sexual preferences to yourself. Or should polygamists start advertising their preferences? Or maybe those that practice beastiality?”

I do not support same sex as a core African and an Igbo man .
I am always outspoken about it without an apology .
So you being remains Aru (abomination) over , so kindly do not bring that part to Ala Igbo .
However I love you for the debate you sparked ma’am.
Thank you ❤️🩹— Non_so (@Anderson_13_13) September 13, 2022

Better call me what ever.” “’You are still gay’ and you claim to be against the colonial masters? You just end up contradicting yourself. There was no need for the last line,” the third one added.
