Hate preacher Steven Anderson has declared that he would rather “eat his own vomit out of a bowl with a spoon every day for the rest of his life” than do anything gay.
A clip of Anderson’s truly disturbing rant was shared to Twitter by Friendly Atheist founder Hemant Mehta, in which the preacher said: “What these people do is every bit as gross, nay much grosser, than eating your own vomit.”
Complete with actions in case his congregation didn’t understand the words “vomit” and “spoon”, he continued: “I would rather eat my own vomit out of a bowl with a spoon every day for the rest of my life until I’m 100 years old than to engage in what they do one single time.
“I’m not using hyperbole, I’m serious. I would be like, ‘OK! I’m ready for my daily meal.’
“That’s pretty gross, right? But you know what? They’re stinkin’ gross. And you know what? I’m sick of pretending that they’re not.”
But it’s pretty clear than Steven Anderson has never pretended he likes the LGBTQ+ community.
Anderson, the founder of the New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist movement and pastor at Arizona’s Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, has called for the execution of gay people by stoning and, in 2016, applauded the Pulse massacre, celebrating that “there are 50 less paedophiles in this world”.
In his vomit-eating reenactment disguised as a sermon, Anderson began yelling over the grumbling of his presumably queasy congregation, adding: “They’re disgusting! They’re filthy!
“It’s vile, it’s gross, it’s weird, it’s sick, and every normal person knows that.”
Mimicking someone saying, “I don’t appreciate you, you know, talking about eating a bowl of vomit”, he continued: “Well, you know what? I don’t appreciate living in a society where their filth is shoved down my throat every day.
“If you get exposed to one single fa***t or transvestite, it’s 100 times grosser than what I just said to you. So deal with it. Get over it.”
Despite the disturbing nature of his rant, many were able to make light of its absurdity.
“Hey…let’s not kink shame. If he wants to do it, then that is his business,” wrote on person on Twitter.
“Gay people wish he would,” added another.
“How can we help him make his dream a reality?” read one comment.
Anderson was banned from entering Australia in 2019 due to his extreme homophobia and transphobia, and has also been barred from entering almost 30 European nations.
