Phillies vs Astros: Betting odds, TV schedule & betting preview for game 3 – Philly Sports – Philly Sports Network
The World Series is currently tied at 1-1. The Philadelphia Phillies dropped game 2 on Saturday night in disappointing fashion but now head to Citizens Bank Park for game 3 in hopes of reclaiming the lead.
This game was originally supposed to take place last night but Mother Nature had other ideas. As a result, the Phillies have been given a slight and subtle advantage. Ranger Suarez will now head to the mound instead of Noah Syndergaard, giving the Phils some flexibility in their bullpen.

Pitching matchup
Ranger Suarez (10-7, 3.65 ERA) vs. Lance McCullers Jr. (4-2. 2.77 ERA)
The rain delay might have frustrated fans on Monday, but they may well be thankful for it today. Instead of sending Thor to the mound, Ranger Suarez will be handling starting duty. He was coaxed into Friday’s game so as a result, the Phils wanted to rest him for game 3. The rain delay gave them a free pass and Suarez will now start tonight as a result, somewhat levelling the playing field.
Lance McCullers, meanwhile, has been at the top of his game for a while and needs no introduction. He’s a seasoned vet who has seen and done it all in the postseason with this club and if there is ever someone to stomach the intensity of Citizens Bank Park, it’s Lance McCullers Jr.
Betting preview
Game 2 was a bit of a letdown but it opened up some valid concerns. The Phillies have suffered significant early blows in both games so far. They were able to rally back from a 5-0 deficit with a magical 10th-inning win in the series opener, but that same magic couldn’t be rekindled in game 2. With Ranger Suarez on the mound and a refreshed bullpen ready for the call, the Phils will be hoping that the home crowd can shift the momentum back in their favor and at least give their starters amicable time to rest up.
It’s hard not to like the Phillies here. Sure, the pitching matchup favors Houston, but that roaring Philadelphia crowd could level any playing field and that initial road win could end up being crucial so long as they can be as dominant as they have leading up to this point. They’re 21-9 in postseason home games (all-time) and that trend has continued long and strong in 2022.
I really like the Phillies +1.5 line. If you want the juice, then the moneyline is the way to go, but I really think that the Phils will come out swinging (from a South Philly basement) and reclaim the series lead here knowing that the Bank has become a fortress this postseason.
