FAIRVIEW — The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show tonight, Friday, Oct. 1, featuring the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band.
In the mid-2000s, longtime bassist Bill Yates formed the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band, surrounding himself with younger talents with a deep commitment to playing the gentlemen’s music the right way.
Yates has passed on, but this tribute project continues, featuring Mike Phipps on guitar and “Charlie Waller sound-alike” vocals, David Propst on mandolin and vocals, Lynwood Lunsford on banjo and vocals, Eric Troutman on upright bass and vocals and Geoff Gay on dobro and vocals.
The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.
The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100-percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio just off Interstate 70 at exit 198.
