Patricia “Susie” was born in Flint, Michigan on April 14, 1932, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Earleen (Daughtery) Schlegelmilch. Raised and educated locally, Susie graduated from Flint Central High School with the Class of 1950. Susie met, fell in love with, and married Freeman Gay on September 4, 1954, in Angola, Indiana. Susie enjoyed many things in life but really enjoyed driving across the country with her husband to go to the casinos in Las Vegas. She also enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. Susie was caring and willing to help anyone in need. She loved volunteering and selling her Avon products. Susie loved family gatherings, any reason to get everyone together put a huge smile on her face. During those gatherings, the family loved to enjoy a piece of her German Chocolate Cake. Seeing everyone gather for the holidays, unable to sit on the living room floor due to the number of gifts she spoiled her children and grandchildren with at Christmas, brought Susie great joy. Susie loved everyone and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Freeman Gay; children, Connie and husband, Randy Miller, Kathy Pratt, Sam Hinterman and husband, Dave Hitchcock, Denise Lazo, Julie and husband, David Clark, Celeste and husband, Kevin Sywyk, Jeff and wife, Kim Gay; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Susie was preceded in death by her son-in0law, Michael Pratt; grandson, Michael Pratt Jr.; great-grandson, Dalton.
