New York judge called Hispanic people ‘liars’ and gay men ‘f*****s’, court docs claim – Daily Mail

A New York judge has been accused of making vile homophobic and racist remarks in her courthouse.

Judge Harriet Thompson allegedly said in the Brooklyn Surrogate Court that homosexuality is an ‘abomination’ and assumed people with a Spanish-sounding name were ‘liars’.

The judge is accused of making the remarks before she was removed from the bench in December last year but they have only just been made public, as she continues her fight to get back her job claiming she is the victim of a ‘political hit’.

An affidavit from state Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks, seen by the New York Daily News, claims Thompson targeted multiple colleagues and members of the public in court with bigoted and hateful comments.

According to the 20-page document, she said: ‘I hate these gay white men.

‘Gay racist f*****s… trying to ruin me and get me… Being gay is an abomination to mankind. The Holy Ghost (is) going to get them.’

Thompson is accused of saying she ‘assumed the litigant was a liar’ if they had a Spanish sounding name.

She allegedly added: ‘They have a deceitful trait that goes way back to Biblical times.

‘The men are always stealing, and the women are no better. They lie, steal and use their vaginas for anything they want.’

The documents say she made the remarks ‘in the courthouse in the presence of United Court System personnel’.

Thompson allegedly also targeted people from the West Indies, overweight colleagues, female judges, white women and black women.

She categorically denies all the allegations, saying: ‘I’m entitled to my day in court, to my right of confrontation, and to my right of cross-examination.

‘I categorically deny the allegations… You know what? It’s about integrity and character. That’s all I have. People lie, and people believe the lies.’

The judge accused her female colleagues of using sexual favors to gain seats on the bench and labeled one black judge as a ‘puppet for the white man’ and a ‘house n*****’.

When a fellow judge was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Thompson allegedly said she ‘got what she deserved’, while she accused another of being a prostitute whose boyfriend was pimping her.

In April, the judge filed a petition arguing for her return to the bench, claiming it was a violation of the law and an abuse of discretion, which state attorneys have disputed.

She was not removed from office or suspended but was blocked from hearing cases.

Thompson began her anticipated 14-year term in January 2019 but after her removal, she was barred from entrance to non-public areas of the Surrogate’s Court last year.
