New Year’s Eve to bring plenty of parties to Texarkana – Texarkana Gazette

TEXARKANA — Glasses will be raised and acquaintances aplenty will become friends on New Year’s Eve.

Multiple restaurants and entertainment venues will be holding events to ring in the new year, each as unique as Texarkana itself.

Local French restaurant Benchmark American Brasserie is holding a Cuban cuisine-inspired gathering called “Havana Nights.”

Chef Rebecca Williams will be whipping up a three-course meal, and guests who pre-purchase their tickets will receive a swag bag.

The party will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the restaurant, and partygoers are encouraged to dress the theme. Tickets can be purchased for $150 by calling the restaurant, 4115 N. Kings Hwy., at 903-949-6720.

67 Landing’s new general manager, Greg Hagood, is throwing a party he says will rock the New Year in — thanks to headliner Crooked Halo.

“We’ll have a free champagne toast at midnight,” Hagood said. “Someone will win a $50 gift card to 67 Landing (and) there will be a photo booth to capture your favorite moments.”

The venue and restaurant, 8400 W. Seventh St., will have drink specials all night with a $15 cover required for entry. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

The historical building housing the 1923 Banana Club and Studio 71 will be holding a multi-decade party where attendees can time travel.

Proceeds from the Studio 71 soiree will benefit the Texarkana Down Syndrome Society, while the Banana Club’s ticket sales will benefit the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets can be purchased for $25 at tinyurl.com/ycnc4a88.

Local gaming bar The Hideout will be kicking off the night with the Dusty Rose band performing at 9 p.m., with a $20 cover required for entry. The new year will be brought in with a balloon drop and champagne, and the party will continue with DJ Dustyn Priest taking the reins until closing time.

Redbone Magic Brewery and Music Hall is offering “a party for the ages” featuring local band Teazur, which plays an assortment of music ranging from Justin Timberlake to Guns N’Roses.

“Come to Redbone to enjoy a fabulous band in a party rich environment,” owner Roger Sheppard said. “(The restaurant is) smoke free and safe for your New Year’s celebration.”

The party starts at 9 p.m. and lasts until midnight. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at tinyurl.com/4m6n37x9.

Texarkana Museums Systems is holding a killer New Year’s Eve party, especially since attendees will be solving a murder mystery.

“We will be hosting another fun-filled murder mystery dinner party at the Ahern House,” TMS Board President Velvet Hall-Cool said. “Celebrate the end of 2022 by putting your clue gathering skills to use!”

Cool said dinner and wine are included, as well as tickets to the 1923 Banana Club multi-decade New Year’s Eve festivities. Tickets for the dinner are sold out, but it is sure to be a night to be remembered.

Local gay bar Village Station is welcoming home local drag royalty, Aquarius Brooks, for a glittery spectacular starting at 11 p.m., with a champagne toast at midnight.

Brooks recently won Miss Gay Tarrant County State at Large and will be hosting the New Year’s Eve drag show, along with performers Jazzi Bleu and Olivia Brooks.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and a $5 cover is required for attendees who arrive after 8 p.m.

Music Venue Whiskey River Country is offering a night with live music, door prizes and a champagne toast at midnight.

“Join us for the biggest last party of the year as we scrape off 2022 and celebrate our way into 2023 and the great things to come in the New Year,” said owner Jeff Easterling. “We are calling it the ‘Whiskey River Country Denim & Diamonds New Year Eve Ball.'”

Easterling said there is a shuttle service and hotel room combo that can be purchased with the party ticket. One ticket is $15, and a pair of tickets is $25. Tickets can be purchased at tinyurl.com/bdhtuzzy.
