KVRR (Fargo) states that students at North Dakota State University are currently working on a “No Hate” campaign. The Staff Senate is reportedly handing out anti-hate pins to students. I was in college not all that long ago. But I have to say that many of today’s college students are doing incredible things to be there for their peers. “No hate” pins may seem simple, but they could potentially have a big impact on students.
There has been a bit of recent controversy surrounding North Dakota State University and some students who spread hate. For instance: the racist Snapchat group. So, I think it is pretty incredible to know how vocal and passionate today’s college students are about serious societal issues.
I graduated from college about seven years ago, and I do not remember students banding together on issues like students are these days. We can look up to these future leaders because they are working hard to better the world that they are just beginning to really be a part of. I definitely never had the confidence or courage to speak up for my beliefs like the modern college student has.
