CLEVELAND, Ohio – Most Ohio voters oppose gender-affirming medical care for minors and policies that allow transgender people to play on sports teams or use public bathrooms that match their gender identities, according to a new poll.
The survey of 856 Ohio voters conducted by SurveyUSA on behalf of Baldwin Wallace University between Sept. 30 and Oct. 3 found that a majority of voters had some level of opposition to letting medical professional provide care for minors’ gender transitions, permitting trans athletes to participate in sports matching their gender identities and allowing trans people use public bathrooms that match their gender identities.
