‘Mass shooting at gay nightclub with multiple injuries’ as police rush to scene – Daily Star
A mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado has left five people dead and 18 others injured.
Videos show cops racing to the scene at Club Q in Colorado Springs with multiple ambulances on site to take victims to hospital.
Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that they have a suspect in custody who is currently being treated for injuries in a local hospital.

One man who said he worked at the venue posted: “There was a mass shooting at my job tonight. I am alive. Please pray for my community.”
Whilst local reporter Brian Sherrod said it was “the most emergency responders I’ve ever seen at one scene”.

The nightclub advertises itself as an “adult-orientated gay and lesbian” venue that hosts theme nights including “karaoke and drag shows”.
Tragically, the grim reports come following the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which is marked every year on November 20 to pay tribute to anyone murdered as a result of transphobia.
One unconfirmed eyewitness report alleged they had seen the suspect holding “a sniper rifle” before the tragedy unfolded.
Club Q is the only gay club in the area, locals said on social media.

The Colorado Springs Police and Fire Communications Centre tweeted: “N Academy Bl is closed both directions between N Carefree Cir & Village Seven Rd for police activity. Please avoid the area.”
Eyewitnesses said there were “at least six ambulances” amongst the flurry of blue lights.
Whilst news anchor Steve Lookner confirmed: “According to scanner traffic earlier tonight (which I listened to), there was an active shooter at Club Q in Colorado Springs (which is a gay & lesbian nightclub).
“Scanner said possibly nine people shot. Original report of shooting on scanner was around midnight local time/2am ET.”
