FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The 21-year-old who is charged with the murders of a mother and her children may face life without parole if he is convicted.

In court on Friday, the prosecutor filed a special notice with Judge Gull to request four life sentences without the possibility of parole.
To accommodate that possibility, the judge added a week to his trial.
The family expressly told the prosecutor they did not want them to pursue the death penalty because they want Hancz-Barron with other inmates, not in isolation.
“I want him to suffer,” Sarah Zent’s mother, Melanie Fields, said. “I want him to experience the entire prison life.”
“I hope he gets beat up every day in prison,” Sarah’s sister, Joselyn Zent, said.
He is set to appear back in court on December 1.
Corinne Rose was in the courtroom today and the family spoke exclusively with her. She and will have a full report tonight at 5 and 6.
