Male driver dead after crash on Interstate 83, coroner says – York Daily Record

A Conewago Township man died Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle he was driving struck a jersey barrier and an embankment on Interstate 83 South, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay.

The driver, Brian Miller, 54, was not wearing a seat belt, she said. The crash occurred about 2 p.m. in Manchester Township.

“According to police, the adult male vehicle operator … reportedly exited the right side of the highway, then re-entered, crossing both lanes of traffic and striking the jersey barrier, then crossing over both lanes of travel again before impacting the embankment,” Gay said in a news release.

His cause of death was blunt force trauma, and his manner of death was accidental, Gay said.

There will no autopsy; results of a routine toxicology test are pending.
