Linda Susan Hines Fields, 67, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

Linda was born Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1953, in Webster Springs, a daughter of the late Leonard Elmer Hines and Icie Gay Brady Hines.

She was formerly married to Robert Fields, the father of her children. They made a home together for the past year and Robert was able to take care of her in her declining health.

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Bobby G. Fields and wife, Jill, and Nathan J. Fields and fiance Lola; three grandchildren, Chloe Larimore, Ava Julianah Joel-Lee Fields and Grayson Michael Todd Fields; seven siblings, James H. Hines, Roy Jr. Hines, Phyllis A. Webster, Judith D. Sexton, Beverly A. Johnson, Eddie D. Hines, Ricky L. Hines and “unkle”, Randy Fields.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were four siblings, Barbara Postalwaite, Betty Hines, Donna Kester and Denzil Hines, and her ornery cat, Precious Ann.

Linda was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School and had been employed as a cook at Jimbo’s in Elkins.

She was a member of HW Daniels Post 29, American Legion Auxiliary, Tygart Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Elkins Lodge 375 Loyal Order of Moose. She was a very social person who enjoyed being out and about with friends listening to live music. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, she adored them. Linda never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who knew her. She was Baptist by faith and dearly loved the Lord.

Linda’s request for cremation was honored and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
