Lil Nas X thanks the ‘gay agenda’ after stripping off for instantly iconic performance – Yahoo Eurosport UK

Lil Nas X thanked the “gay agenda” in an instantly iconic acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The rapper and singer took home the award for video of the year for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” at the star-studded event, which took place in New York City on Sunday (12 September).

Taking to the stage, a shocked Lil Nas X said: “OK, first I want to say thank you to the gay agenda. Let’s go gay agenda!”

He went on to thank his team and everyone who helped create the majestic music video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, which shows him sliding down a pole to hell where he gives Satan a lap dance.

“I love you guys so much, I will not take this for granted,” he added.

Lil Nas X stripped down to his underwear for a steamy MTV VMAs performance

Lil Nas X’s incredible victory was just one of his big moments on the night – he also wowed fans with his heavily sexualised performance of “Industry Baby” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.

The rapper was introduced by Pose star Billy Porter, who delivered an emotional speech about queer Black visibility.

“The world wasn’t ready for all of this Black boy joy,” Porter said.

“It’s a new day and I’m so thankful to have lived long enough to see it,” he added, before welcoming Lil Nas to the stage.

The trailblazing raper took to the stage wearing an all-pink outfit with a crown. He immediately stripped down and migrated to “Montero Prison” where he danced shirtless in front of back-up dancers sporting pink balaclavas.

At the end of the incredible performance, Lil Nas stripped down to just a pair of sparkling boxers. The beautifully queer moment ended with the rapper showering with his all-male back-up dancers, who were also decked out in sparkling underwear.

Apparently not content with stealing the show, Lil Nas also won the red carpet. The singer arrived wearing a glittering, off-the-shoulder purple gown, which he completed with a gorgeous wig of cascading hair.

Needless to say, fans were absolutely gagged by what can only be described as Lil Nas X supremacy.

Lil Nas X’s victorious VMAs appearance comes just days before he releases his debut album. The hotly-anticipated Montero will be released on Friday (17 September).

The singer and rapper first rose to fame in 2019 when his song “Old Town Road” skyrocketed to the top of the charts in the United States.

Since then, his career has gone from strength to strength. Earlier this year, he stunned fans when he released the title track from his debut album.

He caught the attention of the world a second time when he released the music video for “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow, which was set in a men’s prison.
