Kevin Spacey opens up about coming out as gay at an old age because he was raised by a ‘neo-nazi’ – Marca English
Kevin Spacey has been on trial for presumably having sexual conduct with an underage actor back in 1986. This Monday Spacey opened up about his upbringing as well as how he was a ‘neo-nazi’.
Anthony Rapp was the actor that accused Spacey of having inappropriate sexual conduct when Spacey was 26 while Rapp was only 14.
MeeToo Movement
At the beginning of the MeeToo movement, Anthony Rapp made a public statement accusing a drunken Kevin Spacey of fondling him at a party in a private room. An accusation that Spacey has denied entirely saying that he was never interested in Rapp as he was ‘just an acting kid’.
The story caught like wildfire and Spacey’s career crumbled down almost immediately and lost everything that he had worked for since the beginning of his acting career, most notoriously his role as Frank Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards.
Spacey’s coming out
Spacey came out as gay after he was accused, and he mentioned that he did not do it sooner because he did not want to be known for being gay but for his acting, a statement that he later regretted because he received enormous backlash from the LGBTQ+ community and then had to apologize.
Neo-Nazi father
While being questioned Spacey’s face turned red and his voice started to shake as he depicted what it was to be raised by a white supremacist and a neo-nazi dad who ‘fell in with the wrong crowd’ and made him and his family move from place to place.
Actor Anthony Rapp filed a lawsuit against Spacey where he is seeking $40 million in damages.
