Kegler’s Korner: Pair of 300 games early this year – Williamsport Sun-Gazette

While most leagues started the 2022-23 season this past week, a few have been bowling for several weeks as reflected by the league high scores listed below. The area has seen a pair of 300 games already this year, with Tim Stahl reaching perfection in the Sunday Nite Social League and Mike Shaffer matching that score in the Andy Tressler Memorial League, after just missing with a 279 game the week before.
Rebeka Zondory got off to a great start in the Inter-community League as she posted the women’s high series for the week with a 667 on the strength of a 279 game. Dave Briggs’ 793 in that same league, took high male series honors for the week.

Congratulations to the Mr. Sticky’s team, which took second place in the Pa. State Women’s Championship Tournament in late May. Team members are Laura Harrison, Brandy Hess, Bethany McDonald and Rachel Metzger, as was reported in a June 14, 2022 article in this newspaper.
In the State Open Tournament, held last spring in Butler, the best finish among local bowlers was a 19th place finish in the scratch doubles division by Shawn and Brian Pepperman with a score of 1442. Stacy Gridley took seventh place in the women’s handicapped singles event, the best finish among local bowlers in the State Mixed Tournament, held over the summer in Altoona.
