In last week’s action, Tim Day and Alicia Edkin walked off with male and female bowler of the week titles. Day fired an 836 in the Monday Night Classic League with a low game of 268. Edkin fashioned a 777 series on the strength of a 267 game in the Intercommunity League after totaling 741 with a 266 game the night before in the Monday Night Classic League.

No one could beat Dave Miller’s 296 game in the Three-Man Major League for high game of the week, but in the Mitey 8 League, Brian Eiswerth finished off his night with not one but two 279 games coming up just short of an 800 with a 795 series.

HOW ABOUT THESE

NATIONAL RECORDS?

Most consecutive frames with a nine-pin count is 18. It’s been held by Paul Bland, of Bremerton, Washington, since Oct. 23, 1976. What he got in his 19th frame is apparently lost to history.

Consecutive splits record is 14, held by Shirley Tophigh in Las Vegas in the late 1960s. And, in the “it could be worse” category, Payne Rose of St. Louis, set the record for most consecutive 7-10 splits with 6 in 1962.

Hope to see you on the lanes.
