This week, we remember 1977 local hall of fame inductee Erma Bricks, who bowled for 27 years starting at the age of 28. Her high game was 254, high triple was 590 and her high average was 162. In the mid-1940s, Bricks’s Mossers team retired the trophy in the City Girls League after Mossers became the first team to capture the league championship three years in a row. Bricks was a member of the team in the Classic League, when the team bowled a 2,642 scratch series to break the YMCA alley record. She attended all WWBA meetings and served as Sargent-at-Arms for the 1946-47 season. She was instrumental in helping to organize the ABC Ladies League back in 1941, as well as the Classic Monday League at the YMCA.
Hope to see you on the lanes.
