MANHATTAN, Kan.The Kansas State women’s golf team is set to continue its fall slate on Monday and Tuesday as the Wildcats travel to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for the Dale McNamara Invitational.

The three round, 54-hole event will be hosted by Tulsa on the par-72, 6,233-yard Cedar Ridge Country Club.

“We look forward to playing Cedar Ridge,” head coach Kristi Knight said. “It’s a great old traditional golf course that requires you to find the fairway and hit quality shots.”

Knight will send a lineup comprised of Haley Vargas, Manon Donche-Gay, Gabriela McNelly, Noa Van Beek, and Napua Glossner

This is a new lineup combination as the freshman Van Beek makes her Wildcat debut. She came to K-State from Oene, Netherlands, where she gained international experience as a member of the Dutch National Team.

Another Wildcat freshman will be making her collegiate debut as Kate Tilma will be competing in the tournament as an individual. Tilma is a local product from Wichita, Kansas who earned many accolades on the amateur circuit.

The leaders so far this season for the Wildcats have been the two seniors, Vargas and Donche-Gay.

Vargas is the team stroke average leader at 74.50 with Donche-Gay close behind at 75.00. They are relied upon as consistent contributors with both of the veterans having 100 percent of their rounds count toward the team score.

It’s been almost three weeks since Cats last competed, so the goal will be to capitalize on the improvements made in practice as they will once again be tested by a challenging field.

The 11 other teams set to join K-State and Tulsa are Boise State, BYU, James Madison, Middle Tennessee State, Nebraska, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Sacramento State, Sam Houston State, South Florida, and UTSA.

Play will begin via a shotgun start both days at 8:30 a.m., with the first two rounds scheduled for Monday and the final round set for Tuesday. Live scoring can be found throughout the event on Golfstat.com.
