Jimmy Grant Brabham

On August 11, 2021 Jimmy Grant Brabham gained his heavenly wings, while leaving this world a little kinder and more loving by his lifelong example.

A consummate teacher, he opened his heart to each and every student, each and every family member; each and every individual he encountered. He truly led by example, lifting those around him to be their better selves.

Jimmy, Jimmy G, Big Daddy, Dad, Granddaddy, Brother Jim, Uncle Jim, and Mr. Brabham. He was known by many monikers, always spoken with deepest affection and respect.

He leaves behind a daughter, Tena Martin (Debbie Marsh); granddaughter, Christine Martin; three great- grandchildren, Max, Laura and Sean; his twin sister, Janice Stephens; and sisters, Dorothy Byers (Roger), Sharon Christ, Shirley Rhodes (Delmar) and June Gregory (Roger Thompson); a brother, John Brabham (Faith); and a multitude of adored and adoring nieces and nephews.

His love for learning and adventure led him to Glenville State Normal School where he met his best and longest friend. Their bond took them to countries all over Europe where Jim discovered his other home to be the country of Greece, and the Island of Mykonos. So, to you, Francis and Kiki Angelos and your children, George, Niki and Sophia, thanks for bringing him into your family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage you to do a random act of kindness in honor of Jimmy’s legacy.

A graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Napier Chapel Cemetery between Peniel and Gay, WV.

Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home is providing the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.taylorvandalefuneralhome.com
