Jazz To Host Zoom Practice For Fans Saturday – KSL Sports
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz will broadcast a team practice over Zoom for 50,000 fans on Saturday in preparation for their preseason opener next week.
The Jazz have previously hosted preseason scrimmages to give fans a taste of the team for the upcoming season but haven’t held the free event since 2018.
Saturday’s Zoom practice is set to begin in the early afternoon and will feature all 20 players on the Jazz preseason roster including newcomers Rudy Gay, Hassan Whiteside, Eric Paschall, and rookie Jared Butler.
The link for the Zoom broadcast will be made available on the team’s website and through its many social media channels on Saturday before the Jazz practice.
“We are always focused on connecting with our fans and finding unique technology to bring unprecedented access to our players and coaches,” owner Ryan Smith said of the Zoom practice in a release from the team.
“We are excited to partner with Zoom to leverage its innovative platform to stream practice for the first time in our history. We live in a hyper-connected world and the demand for direct-to-consumer content is growing stronger and stronger. This experience begins a new chapter of fan engagement and direct-to-consumer content.”
The team opened training camp earlier this week by hosting their annual media day on Monday before traveling to Las Vegas for practice at the Wynn hotel.
After Saturday’s Zoom practice, the Jazz will travel to San Antonio to face the Spurs on Monday night in their preseason opener.
