Izora Gay “Zorrie” (Higgins) Clevenger, 66, Hesston, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, in UPMC West Shore, Mechanicsburg.

Born Oct. 31, 1955, in Chambersburg, she was one of 12 children born to the late Earl L. and Rhoda F. (Dorty) Higgins.

She is survived by her former husband, her constant companion over the years, James “Jim” Clevenger, Greencastle, her siblings, Jean Miller, Mercersburg, JoAnne Nunemaker, Waynesboro, Terry Lee Fix, Fort Loudon, Paul Higgins and his wife, Kim, Cove Gap; her husband’s parents, George and Virginia Clevenger of Welsh Run and his siblings who were very much a part of Mrs. Clevenger’s family, Teresa Vaughn and her partner, Sioux Fogal, and Cathy Hade, both of Chambersburg, Richard Clevenger and his wife, Deb, and Calvin Clevenger, both of Fannettsburg, Raymond Clevenger and his wife, Bonnie, of Mercersburg, and Terry Clevenger and his wife, Cindy, of Chambersburg, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Higgins, Edward Higgins, Earl Higgins, Sarah Gordon, Constance Kelly, Olive Cordell, Robert Higgins and Kevin Clevenger.

Mrs. Clevenger was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Walker Township.

She graduated from James Buchanan High School with the class of 1974.

She worked for CertainTeed Vinyl Siding for about 20 years. Prior to that she worked at Fresh Express.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the beach. She will be remembered by family and friends as an incredibly giving and kind-hearted woman who found joy in helping others.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, in Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg, with the Revs. Lou Zannino and Japheth Nell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle.
