Tyler the Creator’s sexuality has always sparked a lot of interest. Fans are yet again busy discussing if he is gay after messages showing him talking about wearing a dress found their way onto social media.
The conversation that seems to have taken place between Tyler and another rapper, Maxo Kream, has left many wondering if the former is homosexual. If you’re one of them, we’ve got all the details for you right here.
Is Tyler the Creator gay?
Tyler the Creator hasn’t come out as gay to date. But, he has spoken about being involved with other men.
During an interview with GQ Magazine, the rapper reportedly said that he “likes” girls, but ends up sleeping with their “brother every time.”
He also hasn’t hesitated from showing his admiration for other male celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio. In 2016, Tyler had shared a picture of a young Leonardo and wrote in the caption: “Yes boyfriend yes.”
However, his actions and opinions still wouldn’t confirm if he’s gay as he could also be bisexual, given that he has spoken about liking girls.
Rapper talks about wearing a “dress”
As we already know, the discussion surrounding Tyler’s sexuality isn’t new, but this time around, it piqued people’s interest after he asked Maxo Kream in an alleged chat if he “can wear a dress.”
It appears from the text messages as if the two rappers were planning to meet up when Tyler told Maxo that he would be landing at 6, before adding “we gon make it whewww.”
Some Twitter users were quick to jump on the platform to discuss Tyler’s desire to wear a dress, while others shot questions about his undisclosed sexuality.
Fans are divided
Tyler’s latest comment about wearing a dress has divided fans on the Internet, maybe due to a lack of clarity from the rapper’s end about his sexuality or due to a few of his past remarks.
One tweeted, “Why do ppl think it’s ok to have a group discussion about anyone’s sexuality? They don’t even know who they are talking about on a personal level. Like “Ayo, I heard Tyler The Creator was gay”
Another added, “i’m a fan of tyler, the creator” can mean 1 of 2 things. it’s either “i’m gay/an ally to the queer community” or “i’m a terribly queerphobic wannabe edgelord and i’m covering it up by saying my favourite artist is a queer black man.”
