Is King Charles… gay? An entry in a book claims he told this to Diana when she pressured him to have sex – Marca
Because of how “extremely volatile” Charles and Diana’s miserable marriage was, royal protection officials were concerned that someone may get hurt.
According to Christopher Andersen‘s account in the upcoming book “The King: The Life of Charles III,” which will be released on November 8, one of Charles’ valets recalled seeing Diana “hurling epithets and insulting her husband’s obsession with the dreary-looking Camilla.”
At Charles’ Highgrove House country hideaway, Diana “actually stalked” her husband ” down hallways, up staircases and from room to room,” Andersen recounts.
“Why won’t you sleep with me?” Diana is believed to have asked her husband since the birth of Prince Harry in 1984, who “had for all intents and purposes unilaterally called a halt to their sexual relationship.”
Charles allegedly responded sarcastically: “I don’t know, dear. I think I might be gay.”
The book claims that during one violent disagreement, Charles immaturely wanted to be treated with the respect “that he felt his position warranted.”
“‘Do you know who I am?’ he asked her. “Diana answered that he was a ‘f-king animal,'” writes Andersen. “You will never be King!” she shouted. “William will succeed your mother. I will see to that.” As time went on, the tension in the royal household only got worse.
A very difficult marriage
Before their happily ever after wedding in 1981, the couple had a miserable relationship. Charles was reportedly under pressure from Prince Philip to wed. He was also annoyed that Diana laughed during the proposal and later referred to it as “juvenile and unnerving.”
Diana, who was 12 years younger than her fiancé, soon discovered that he was in love with Camilla Parker-Bowles.
“Consumed by anger and frustration, both bride and groom separately cried themselves to sleep the night before the wedding,” writes Andersen.
In the end, the couple decided to separate in 1992, and they got divorced in 1996. Diana tragically passed away in a car accident a year later at the age of 36.
