I was disinvited from my BFF’s wedding because I’m gay and love makeup – New York Post

She got her something blue.

A TikToker is claiming he was disinvited from his best friend’s wedding because he’s gay and wears makeup.

In a now-viral video, Devin Valeno — who often posts makeup tutorials — recounted the moment his best friend of seven years allegedly asked him not to “wear makeup or anything girly” to the wedding, as it might make her family members “uncomfortable.”

“I was a little bit taken aback by this,” he admits in the clip, which has been viewed more than 5 million times since it was posted late last month. “And I just was like, whatever, it’s your special day. Of course I’ll do that.”

Valeno said the pal thanked him, and they hung up the phone. He thought that was the end of it — though he was hurt by her request.

The content creator said he was deeply shocked when his friend allegedly rang him later to say she spoke with her father, and they thought it’s best if he and his boyfriend don’t attend her nuptials.

“Just having you and your boyfriend here, and you guys being gay and all, it would really make my family uncomfortable,” Valeno claims the bride-to-be said.

Valeno said he was floored by the statement and tearfully suggested maybe they shouldn’t be friends anymore because “an ally of mine is supposed to be an ally of the whole community.”

His friend apparently agreed, saying she doesn’t want to be around that “type of energy anyways.”

“This is one of the most personal hate crimes I’ve ever experienced,” Valeno said in the caption, adding in the video he “sat there and cried” once they hung up from that fateful phone call.

“Not only did she disappoint me, but she is disappointing the entire gay community,” Valeno continued. “It’s 2022, and people will still just throw you out like you’re not s–t just because of the fact that you’re gay.”

The clip has more than 40,000 comments, many in disbelief over his friend’s alleged remarks.

“She was never a friend, you’re better off without someone like that,” one user wrote.

In a follow-up video, Valeno revealed he received death threats after sharing the wedding story. He brushed them aside as he emphasized his mission.

“This page is only meant to share support for one another, spreading awareness about people’s struggles and a place to grow and have fun. At the end of the day, no one on this app truly knows me,” he stressed.
