Human Rights Campaign Applauds House Passage of Women’s Health Protection Act of 2021, Urges Swift Action in Senate – Human Rights Campaign

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) civil rights organization, praised today’s passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2021 (WHPA) by the U.S. House of Representatives. The WHPA is federal legislation that would protect a person’s ability to control their reproductive health and protect health care practitioners’ ability to provide abortion services. HRC urges the U.S. Senate to also pass the WHPA to ensure equal access to reproductive healthcare, regardless of state-level laws restricting access to abortion to protect individual’s reproductive autonomy.
