Married at First Sight contestants are left stunned on tonight’s episode after the first gay couple in the show’s history do not show up to the first dinner party of the series.
After six years of being on air, the reality show finally showcased its first gay couple in Matt, 39, and Daniel, 27, marrying in a ground breaking episode which aired last week.
However on tonight’s programme, the couple’s fellow contestants were left shocked as they realised the pair had not turned up to the first group event of the series.
While Morag and her husband Luke speculated they had left the show, Tayah commented: ‘My gut is telling me that they have walked.’

As the dinner party kicked off, groups of newlyweds could be seen chatting and enjoying drinks with one another.
However Morag was quick to notice that one couple was missing from the party, saying: ‘Hey guys. Where is Daniel and Matt?’
Looking around the room, Tayah commented: ‘I reckon they’ve gone. They’ve left. 100 per cent they have gone.’
She went on: ‘Nah they’ve definitely left.’

Looking around the room to see if she could spot the couple, Morag continued: ‘They should have been here by now. That’s really sad.’
Morag and her husband Luke later told the camera they were worried about the Daniel and Matt and their decision not to show up to the dinner.
Having first met the two at the stag and hen parties before the weddings, they said they both ‘loved’ the men.
Luke added that it was ‘not good news’ that neither Matt nor Daniel had attended the dinner party.

Meanwhile other couples were also upset to think that the pair had quit the show, with Adam saying: ‘I will be gutted if Matt doesn’t come back.’
His wife Tayah added: ‘That would be really upsetting but my gut is telling me that they have walked.’
Last week, fans were left delighted to see Matt and Daniel connect on the show in the first gay pairing in the show’s history.
One fan said: ‘I’m emotionally connected to Matt and Daniel on Married at first sight uk already’ [sic]
Meanwhile other couples including Adam and Tayah were also upset and said they believed the pair had likely quit the show
Another wrote: ‘Ngl, am totally in love with Matt & Dan on #MAFSUK. I really really hope they make it [heart eye emoji] Such a cute couple.’
Matt is a charity worker from West Yorkshire, and he was put with the grooms before the wedding night, and said to them all: ‘When I started to tell people, and kind of realised who I was, I kind of became the person that I am now. Like really strong and confident.’
Over with the girls, Dan, who works in sales and is from Northern Ireland, said of his experience: ‘It’s amazing to be one half of the first gay couple [on the show].
‘Gay marriage has only been legalised very recently in Northern Ireland which is absolutely shocking. And now that I can share my relationship with the world, I find that so important.’
Even though this marks a momentous occasion for the UK show, the 2020 series of Australia’s strand of the show will have their first lesbian couple.
