Halloween is basically queer Christmas, so it’s no surprise that numerous LGBTQ+ celebrities crushed it in the costume department. Sapphic icon Hayley Kiyoko brought a cartoon lesbian to life, MUNA performed as the in-movie band from Freaky Friday, and Los Espookys star Julio Torres became a literal spell. Hayley Kiyoko
On the heels of the confirmation that Scooby-Doo’s Velma Dinkley is a lesbian, musician Hayley Kiyoko and her girlfriend, Bachelor alum Becca Tilley, put together a Daphne and Velma couples costume that would make the Mystery Gang proud. Kiyoko reprised her role as Velma, whom she played in the 2010 movie Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster — just another reminder that Velma and Scooby-Doo are for the gays.
“Jinkies! Lost my glasses, found my girl,” the singer wrote on Instagram.

Niecy Nash-Betts
Unsurprisingly, Niecy Nash-Betts and wife Jessica Betts also nailed their couples costume. They went as Rihanna and ASAP Rocky at the 2021 Met Gala, complete with cozy oversized coats. Betts even sported the same instantly recognizable patchwork, Cap’n Crunch-esque piece that ASAP Rocky memorably wore to the event. That’s dedication, folks!
