Gloria M. Thomas, 91, of Warren, Pa., passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15, 2022, at the Warren Manor.

She was born in Warren, Pa., on Nov. 21, 1930, to the late Wayne H. and Harriet J. Whitton.

Gloria was a resident of Warren and Wildwood, Fla., for 27 years, and moved back to Warren in 2013. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1948. Gloria was a lifelong organist and over the years you could find her playing at the Sheffield Forestview Roller Rink, Warren Roller Rink, Epworth United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church of Coleman, Fla. Gloria has been a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren since her return to Pennsylvania in 2013. She will be forever missed by her family and remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in- law, and grandmother.

Gloria is survived by her two children: Ronald E. Thomas and wife, Mary Jane of Warren, and daughter, Pamela V. Gay and husband, John, of Canyon Country, Calif.; two sisters:, Dorothy Zaffino and husband, Ned and Karen, Donaldson and companion, Larry Stover, all of Warren, Pa.; one brother, Daryl Whitton and wife, Linda of Wattsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren: Garrett Ruch of Bend, Ore., Clark Thomas, Warren, and Julia Good and husband, Ryan of Slippery Rock, Pa., and their four children; sisters-in-law: Connie Whitton of Houston, Texas, and Sharon Thomas of Casper. Wyo/; eight nieces; and 13 nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Amos E. Thomas, who passed away on Jan. 30, 2010, whom she married March 11, 1950, in Warren, Pa.; two brothers: Jim Whitton and Ned Whitton; and a sister, Joyce Smith, all from Houston, Texas.

Gloria’s family will welcome family and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 1p.m. at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna Ave E, Warren, Pa. A funeral will follow at 1 pm. with the Rev. Michael Rutenber, Minister of Visitation, First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial, alongside her late husband will occur at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
