Glass Onion’s Hugh Grant confirms he’s “married to James Bond” in … – Digital Spy
Glass Onion spoilers follow.
Glass Onion cameo star Hugh Grant has weighed in on the romance between his character and Daniel Craig’s stylish sleuth Benoit Blanc.
The follow-up to Knives Out sees Grant in the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role of Phillip, Blanc’s husband. When Janelle Monáe’s character shows up at the detective’s house, it’s Phillip who opens the door instead, rocking an apron and holding a jar of sourdough starter.
“It is true, I’m married to James Bond,” Grant said in an interview with Collider.

“It’s the tiniest little moment. I don’t really know why they wanted to do it but anyway, I thought Knives Out 1 was brilliant, and so yeah, I thought why not? I turn up for a few hours…”
The scene, and writer-director Rian Johnson clarifying that Blanc is “obviously” gay at a press conference at London Film Festival last year, sparked a debate over the character’s sexuality.

While some have been skeptical of the film’s LGBTQ+ representation given the very brief segment, other fans of the franchise have taken Grant’s reveal and Johnson’s words as a confirmation that Blanc is, of course, happily married to a man, and that the film didn’t need to explore further on the topic.
Whether we’ll get to see more of Grant in an already confirmed third Knives Out movie remains unclear, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Knives Out is available to rent or buy on DVD, Blu-ray or as a digital download – and its sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is also on Netflix.
