Gays Against Groomers Founder Blamed Trans Health Care for the Club Q Shooting – Them

The lesbian founder of an anti-transgender activist group has blamed trans people and gender-affirming care for the shooting in Colorado this weekend that left five people dead.

“The tragedy that happened in Colorado Springs the other night, it was expected and predictable,” Gays Against Groomers founder Jaimee Michell said during an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s FOX News show Tuesday. During the segment, Michell and Carlson spuriously linked a Balenciaga ad campaign that some say sexualizes children to trans activism and medical care.

“I don’t think [the violence is] gonna stop until we end this evil agenda that is attacking children,” Michell told Carlson, who wore his trademark confused squint throughout the interview. “Gays Against Groomers, our priority is to protect children, but we also are here to protect ourselves and defend ourselves, because what is happening, what is being done in our name is putting us all in danger.”

Michell has been banging the same drum since founding Gays Against Groomers this summer, which she describes as a “coalition of gays against the sexualization, indoctrination and medicalization of children.” Michell’s manifesto claims that the LGBTQ+ rights movement — which, in her mind, aims only to “successfully integrate ourselves into society” and nothing more — has been “hijacked by radical activists who are now pushing extreme concepts onto society, specifically targeting children.” 

Carlson himself has spent hours of his show fixating on this type of rhetoric, platforming anti-trans talking points from Chaiya Raichik (aka Libs of TikTok) and Marjorie Taylor Greene, and even spreading the absurd conspiracy theory that schools are providing litter boxes for students who identify as furries. It’s worth remembering that Carlson claimed in his college yearbook to belong to the “Dan White Society,” an apparent “joke” referencing the assassin who killed gay rights pioneer Harvey Milk.

GAG’s attempts to cash in on the “grooming” panic have been quisling behavior at its most pathetic, but Michell’s latest diatribe is flat-out horrifying.
