GAY WALDMAN “Amama”
Gay Waldman of Bethesda, MD, passed away on October 5, 2021. She was 82, and spent her entire life in the Washington, DC area. Gay’s life was focused on her family. She was married to her husband Robert for 62 years. Her four children and their families all live within a mile of her home, which was the hub of life for the extended family. Gay’s greatest joy was when her ten grandchildren (who called her Amama) would visit her home to share their latest adventures and challenges. She was also a highly successful Bethesda real estate agent. Gay is survived by her husband Robert Waldman and her children Michele (Stuart) Herschfeld, Daryl (Ken) Gelfarb, Jill (Robert) Hazan, and Todd (Emily) Waldman, all of Bethesda, Maryland. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren – Melanie, Mark, and Lindsay Herschfeld; Jessica and Amanda Gelfarb; Rachel and Danielle Hazan; and Benjamin, Max, and Rebecca Waldman. She is survived by her older sister Joy Shillman of Pikesville, MD, and was preceded in death by her younger sister Hope Kane. A private graveside service will be held by the family. Donations in Gay’s honor can be made to Montgomery Hospice Casey House.
